Sam gets into the act:

And hey, can we get a roll call? Who else is at this party? I promise to refill the punchbowl...

Oh Yes!
Also see Dr. David Brin's excellent blog which discusses the REAL reasons we need to RESIST the destruction of our society.
Especially why the PROFESSIONAL "warrior" class has been slighted, and is NOT supporting the president.
If you haven't, GO NOW to his blog!

You really should; his writing on this topic has been excellent.
(Duh! He's David freakin' Brin.)

Have sent two letters to Nancy P. Not perfect, but I will be doing it often. Some days I just may mail out two or three instead of going to the post office.
Or I could buy some fucking stamps to have in the house.

NTodd, I've sent Nancy letters every day since Sunday calling for impeachment. Both snail mail and e-mail.

And NTodd, one other thing - I have lost a friendship over my passion for politics. Started asking a friend to get involved and tried to show her how, and she told me to fuck off, that it wasn't my business to tell her what to do. Even though she's a dem and despises Bush. She just doesn't get that it's as bad as it is out there, and she has accused me of pushing the envelope too far wrt political activism.
I'm trying, though. And in retrospect, if she doesn't get it, she probably isn't much of a friend, anyway.

I just started with Nancy -- have been writing my rep (for whom I volunteered in his bid for election last year, which he won by a very slim margin) for some time. I prepared a whole sheet of mailing labels with Nancy's address to make it easier to write her every day.

Vicki - that's totally bogus, and I'm sorry to hear it. But yeah, if somebody gets upset with your own engagement, that probably is a sign of...something.

I have two letters going out tomorrow. No printer so handwriting envelopes and letters is hard work. It's hard. :)

NTodd, I finally wrote a letter! thanks for keeping reminding us. I used to write 2 letters a day to my daughters when they were at camp -- it didnt seem like a lot of work then -- once i got started it was enjoyable, so it's actually not hard -- it feels good.
thanks again.
